These words of power and poetry, descriptive of our almighty King, encourage me through life’s frequent struggles and seeming downturns. The words of Job in his description of our God and King. He begins to declare who God is in Job 26:7.. – 14 :
“Our God stretches the Northen sky over empty space and hangs the earth on nothing. He wraps the rain in His thick clouds and the clouds don’t burst with the weight. He covers the face of the moon, shrouding it with His clouds.
He created the horizon when He separated the waters; He set the boundary between day and night. The foundations of heaven tremble. They shudder at His rebuke. These are just the beginning of all that He does, merely a whisper of His POWER !”
That’s who my God is. Our God hasn’t changed. He’s the same yesterday, today and forever. So, when we may be tempted to give too much thought to our struggles or the issues that confront us, it would be imperative to remind ourselves of who our God is.
Because nothing can compare to the majesty of our God and King. He reigns supreme over a deeply flawed and broken global economic, justice and financial system. He towers incomparably over our global institutions. He controls and is above all natural disasters and machinations of mere mortals.
He is the Living God who holds everything up by merely His words. All else pale into insignificance in comparison to the Power of our King. So rest assured in the fact that this God, who holds the earth and the moon and the heavens and the entire cosmos, universes, both known and unknown,
He is our God ! Selah !
