My Rock of Unyielding Strength.

With God rests my salvation and my glory; He is my Rock of unyielding strength and impenetrable hardness, and my refuge is in God! Psalm 62:7 AMPC

This is the nature of our King. He is unyielding in strength, impenetrable and impervious to defeat.

The more I stare, musing, pondering and ruminating on His perfect law of liberty, His truths and nature, I have come to understand even more that His primary objective is to transmit the attributes of His nature into us. One of which is to make us impervious to difficulties and distress.

He says:  “Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed (or discouraged or panicked or depressed or distressed),for I am your God. I will strengthen and HARDEN you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice. Isaiah 41:10 AMPC”

Again, Jesus Himself again reiterated the same truths in John 16:33

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]”

Yes! This is soo exciting. No matter the difficulty or despair in life, by His Spirit and the understanding of His deep LOVE for us, we must push through.

We must dig deeper to find the strength that comes from an illumination of His boundless, depthless LOVE for us. A Love soo powerful  that He seeks to draw us into a realm of life and living that surpasses the constructs of this world.

All through the ages, His deep, deep and boundless LOVE has remained constant. Contending for us and our attention, so much so that He pleads for us as so:

“Hear, O mountains, the Lord’s controversy, and you strong and enduring foundations of the earth, for the Lord has a controversy (a pleading contention) with His people, and He will [pleadingly] contend with Israel. O My people, what have I done to you? And in what have I wearied you? Testify against Me ! For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house where you were bond servants, and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. Micah 6:2‭-‬4 AMPC”

This is a powerful instance of our loving Father pleading for our attention even before He sent His only Son to die in exchange for us.

And again, He asks:

“Thus says the Lord: What unrighteousness did your fathers find in Me, that they went far from Me and [habitually] went after emptiness, falseness, and futility and themselves became fruitless and worthless? Jeremiah 2:5 AMPC”

Walking away from He that birthed us is akin to going after emptiness. Salvation, contentment, fulfillment, victory, the alignment and adjustment of all contrary situations in our lives can only be found in the ways of Him who formed us from the womb.

I encourage you as I encourage myself with His Word, by His Word, let us push through. Let us lean in to Him, give up and give in to HIM. His plans for us are soo amazingly, incredibly way beyond this realm, but we must stay the course. We must dig deeper into Him to find strength that comes from a deeper understanding of the beauty and Power of His Love.

An example of the depth of believe that can be triggered by the understanding of His overwhelming love is the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who refused to bow to an image of King Nebuchadnezzar. They faced death by fire. Fire so hot, that the flames and spark killed the King’s guards just for getting close.

This story is usually told as an example of faith and belief in God. But I see a different perspective in the Spirit. Their senses must have been in a heightened state of panic, despair and cringing fear. No matter how much courage one has, the prospect of being thrown into such a furnace will absolutely activate one’s sense of alarm, panic, dismay and terror. But long before this event, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had lived life being continually trained and steeped in the divine instructions, life and power of God, so much so that He had raised and taught them how to remain undaunted and hardened in the face of distress like the one immediately before them.

They pushed through the despair and threat faced, proclaiming:  “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If the God whom we serve exists, then He is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace and from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden statue you have set up.”..

Despair in this world can be real, but His Love, Life and Victory are incomparably more real, lasting and eternal. Selah!
