I think that the pathway to abiding trust and faith in the Father is His Love. A deep and abiding understanding of the nature of His Love for me. And He reveals these words:
“Can a mother forget the infant at her breast, walk away from the baby she bore?
But even if mothers forget, I’d never forget you—never.
Look, I’ve written your names on the backs of my hands. The walls you’re rebuilding are never out of my sight.
Isaiah 49:15-18 MSG
And again..
[And the Lord answered] Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you.
Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands; [O Zion] your walls are continually before Me.
Isaiah 49:15-16 AMPC
Gosh ! This is deep. “…Oh Zion, your walls are continually before me”….My thoughts are always of you, to bring you to an expected end.
For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
Jeremiah 29:11 AMPC
Faith is akin to trust. A deep and abiding trust. But this quality and depth of trust does not and cannot exist in a vacuum. It is cultivated within the context of a relationship. A bond that is built on LOVE.
I think the pathway to unwavering, abiding faith in the Father is understanding His abiding Love.
I ask myself, what does the Father want from me. And He answers with the following scripture as with many others:
“You are My witnesses, says the Lord, and My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know Me, believe Me and remain steadfast to Me, and understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the Lord, and besides Me there is no Savior.”
Isaiah 43:10-11 AMPC
He whispers in my ears, opening my inner core and understanding that I may comprehend like His learned follower and witness. He desires above all else to build and cultivate a deep, abiding bond and relationship with me. One that is founded on the understanding of His personality and character of Love for me.
A relationship in which I come to see that He is ever thinking of me and my affairs as indicated in the Isaiah 49:18 declaration by Him.
A deeply transformational relationship in which He seeks to remake every aspect of my life: thought life etc, into the magnificently radiant reflection of His eternally creative and ever expanding life that surpasses all human understanding.
This relationship is not transactional. It is abiding, sustained and all-consuming. That I may 1. Know Him. 2. Remain Steadfast to Him. 3. Come to Believe Him and His every Word reflexively. 4. And Understand Him.
This is a process. It is a deep, ongoing and sustained campaign to dig deeper into His nature and personality. It is a committed journey to build the greatest friendship of Love ever.
Now, He understands the distractions that abound around us and within us with respect to life in this realm. But He has provided Help by His Spirit. He continues to draw us toward and into Him by His Spirit and His Word that quickens.
He continues to work in us both to will and to do. We only need to daily let Him help.
By Him and through Him, we are getting to a place where we are so preoccupied with His nature, so fixated with His presence, beauty and life giving personality that it becomes very difficult to get caught up with and overwhelmed with the mundane affairs and attributes of our unredeemed humanness.
So obsessed and drenched in Him, that our sense-based faculties so easily impacted by anger, envy, bitterness, hatred and the likes become steeped in a flood of His Love generating love in us, a flood of His Love generating and building up faith like a mustard seed in us.
Faith that moves mountains. We remain locked in the unyielding embrace of His Love.
So shall it be, in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus name Amen.
Selah!
