Faith Expresses Itself in Works of Obedience.

“Wasn’t our ancestor Abraham “made right with God by works” when he placed his son Isaac on the sacrificial altar?

Isn’t it obvious that faith and works are yoked partners, that faith expresses itself in works? That the works are “works of faith”?

The full meaning of “believe” in the Scripture sentence, “Abraham believed God and was set right with God,” includes his action.

It’s that weave of believing and acting that got Abraham named “God’s friend.” Is it not evident that a person is made right with God not by a barren faith but by faith fruitful in works?”

James 2:21‭-‬24 MSG

Faith expresses itself in works or obedience to the instructions of faith.

Even God has faith in His Word. His Word operates in Faith. Action is produced as a result of His Word being spoken or sent.

“..so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:

It shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

Isaiah 55:11 KJV

We say we believe in God, yet we are complacent in obeying His instructions regarding how we conduct ourselves. We sound as if we’ve done something wonderful.

You believe in God? Great, big deal. Even demons believe and tremble. Yet, it does them no good.

If our faith, our believing doesn’t produce corresponding action, then it’s not complete.

It is the weaving and handshake, the dance between faith/believing and corresponding action/obedience that produces God’s approval.

Father , I ask you in the name of your Son Jesus Christ to work in me both to will and to do (obey).

Give me the faith that leads to obedient action in you, through you Lord.

For it is in You and by You that I live, move and have my being.

Amen. Selah!
