Christ’s Design for Neutralizing Immaturity in His Body.

Ephesians Chapter 4 is a revealing exposition of Christ’s cycle of grace released on us His body, His bride.

It unveils a most beautiful chain reaction of giftings imparted to all who completely and continually place their trust and life in Him.

Some are graced with apostleship inclinations, some graced with shepherding, some graced with teaching, some graced with evangelism, and some graced with prophesying. Some are even graced with all the gifts as we are encouraged to desire these gifts.

But that is only the beginning. As we exercise these gifts and walk in them, we naturally pass them on to others in the body of Christ through our nurturing and encouragement. In turn, those who receive these gifts begin to practice them as well.

And the cycle continues. It continues until immaturity in the body of Christ is fully neutralized because everyone functions in one or more of these graces as we all transfer it into the next person and build them up.

These grace services will function until we all attain oneness into the faith, until we all experience the fullness of what it means to know the Son of God, and finally we become one, sculpted into a perfect person with the full dimensions of spiritual maturity and fully developed into the abundance of Christ.

This is the beautiful architectural design for this incredible edifice called His ekklesias. It is so simple, yet profound.

These graces are not offices or roles that grant special competence or status. This misunderstanding often causes us to unintentionally delegate our responsibilities in the body of Christ and His kingdom to a select group of “office holders” (Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers, Shepherds, etc.).

It creates complacency and causes us to pull back from practicing our gifts and calling because we’ve abdicated our kingdom responsibilities to a few since we’ve come to believe it’s their “office.”

In other words, we’ve decided it’s simply not our problem.

But we are excited because these gifts are manifestations of His ever evolving magnanimity towards us, His bride, His lovers.

As we live and reign in life with Him starting now. Whether on this side of life or the next.
