You see, the Christ-life is not behavior modification or lifestyle change. It is not simply repeating affirmations in the morning, lol.
It is a union with a brand-new nature, a brand-new life, and spirit. And that life carries its own distinct character and charisma.
When that new life enters you, it comes with its own character and charisma.
The character is called the fruit of the Spirit. The charisma is called the gifts of the Spirit.
There’s no attempt to patch up or modify your old character—you receive an entirely new one: love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, meekness, and more.
But someone might ask, “I’ve embraced Christ, so why am I not seeing these things manifest?”
It’s because we often don’t look at the right mirror. A mirror is meant for reminder and adjustment. When you look into the right mirror, you see yourself.
When a lady looks at herself in a mirror, she begins to make adjustments. The longer she looks, the more what she sees registers in her. If she doesn’t look long enough, it doesn’t register. When she steps away, anyone can confuse her. She may even be tricked into thinking her makeup or hair is off and start reacting out of uncertainty.
But if she stayed long enough in the mirror, no matter what contradictory feedback she gets, she’ll stand confident, knowing exactly how good she looks.
The spoken Word of God is our mirror—it empowers our adjustment. If we don’t stay long enough with the Word, anyone can label us.
If your thoughts—or someone else—says you can’t make it, doubt creeps in. If you’re told your family is under a curse, you may start begging for deliverance. If you’re overwhelmed by a sinful desire, you may start to see yourself as a habitual sinner.
But when we stay long enough in the spoken Word of Christ, we grow certain of who we are. If someone says you can’t make it, you declare that you already made it in Christ, and that you are complete in Him.
When you keep looking into the mirror of His Word, your identity becomes unshakable. Nobody—not even your own thoughts—can confuse you.
Even when things seem not to work out, you speak to those things and the divine life we carry aligns them, because everything works for your good in the Christ-life. If we’re confused about a situation, we stay gazing at the mirror of His spoken Word until clarity shines through.
And they will work, because we speak from a place of knowledge that carries its own life and power to execute.
If someone says you’re not married because of mystical reasons, you’ll laugh it off. Nonbelievers—with or without supposed issues—have married multiple times. How much more you, who carry the Great Attractor within! 🔥Lol. Ok, that’s a weird example, but you get the point lol.
We are complete in Christ. Everything works together for our good. We stay gazing into the mirror of His Word until the life we carry registers in our minds and is released through us.
Selah!
